Our house call services
Oceanside Vet Nurses offers a range of professional veterinary nursing services right in the comfort of your home. We focus on gentle, fear-free care to ensure a positive experience for your beloved pet.
Routine nursing care
Our routine services include:
• Nail trims
- Gentle, safe and regular trims to keep feet comfortable
- We work with your pets' comfort levels to ensure visits are carried out with their behavioural needs as a priority over getting the job done. Sessions might take longer than a standard vet visit but we commit to easier and easier sessions each time.
• Anal gland expressions
- Expressions are never pleasant, however we commit to making the process as smooth and stress free as possible. Pets often tolerate this quick procedure far better at home with their owners present.
- As always, if we come across any issues, or your pet is just too stressed, we will reccomend a clinic visit, however we have found that this is quite a rare occurrence with our skilled nurses usually being able to manage patients in a quick, stress free manner.
• Administration of flea, tick, worming, or other prescribed medications
- We can either give your chosen preventative medication for you to save the hassle of medication time, and/or provide you with the required medication/s to keep your pets healthy inside out.
• General health & wellbeing checks (including dental, nutrition, socialisation & husbandry advice)
• Post operative checks including suture or staple removal
• We can also work with your veterinarian to organise blood or pathology collection if needed
Specialised injections
We can provide arthritis injections, allergy injections, and booster vaccinations, all requiring prior vet approval and visit confirmation 24 hours before your appointment.
Examples of these include Cytopoint, & Synovans (Cartrophen). Booster vaccinations for Leptospirosis also available pending initial dosing is carried out by a veterinarian amd relevant Authority to Dispense/Supply form is provided.
Pet transportation

Safe and comfortable pet transportation services to vet clinics, boarding facilities, or other appointments, ensuring your pet travels stress-free. A veterinary nurse will meet you at your home and transport you and your pet to your destination.
We are working on attaining all relevant licencing to ensure all things safety and functional are achieved.

New Puppy Introduction Sessions
Duration: 45 Minutes
During your session we’ll cover:
• Nutrition & feeding guidance
• Recommended flea, tick & worming protocols (and provide and/or give these if required)
• Vaccination information & schedules*
• Desexing overview & puppy tailored recommendations
• Basic puppy training advice & where to find the best support for puppy school and training
• Crate training introduction advice
• Gentle mock “top-to-toe” examinations to help prepare your puppy for future vet visits
• Early monitoring for common puppy concerns such as:
- Hernias
- Retained/undescended testicles
- Malaligned teeth/bite issues
- Dew claw concerns
- And other things to keep an eye on as your puppy grows
Most importantly, we focus on creating POSITIVE experiences.
By introducing handling and examinations slowly, gently and in the safety of their own home, we can help build confidence before clinic visits — making future vet appointments much happier and less stressful for everyone involved.
